Neogene activity of the Outer Carpathians recorded by thrust-top basin deposits – an example from the Rzeszów area, Poland

The Rzeszow thrust-top basin was formed on the active Skole thrust sheet of Outer Carpathian fold-and-thrust  belt and filled with Miocene syntectonic sediments. New seismic 3D, well field data were used to define relationship between sedimentation tectonic activity to establish synkinematic context of the basin-fill architecture. evolution controlled by frontal thrust hinterland thrusts developed in forelimbs folds sheet, bounding basin from north south, respectively. frontal resulted hinterland-directed depocentre migration tilting stratigraphic sequence. Balanced cross-sections have indicated that during last compressive stage deformation, deposits filling shortened by c. 5%, which formation contractional faults. architecture syntectonic deposits development structures reflect during compressive deformation orogenic belt.
